On 1 January 2027, every Plesk license gets more expensive. Web Host, the edition you need to sell hosting to resellers, goes from $62.99 to $73.99 a month on a VPS, a rise of 17.5%. This post sets the new prices next to the old ones, works out a year of licenses for six typical small-host servers, and lists your options, staying on Plesk included.
All prices are Plesk's own store prices in US dollars before tax, from its pricing page and its Customer Licensing Guide 2027, checked in October 2026. Prices through a hosting provider or a license reseller are often lower and are not covered here.
What changes on 1 January 2027?
Plesk sells three editions and counts domains, not accounts. Web Admin runs up to 10 domains for the server's owner. Web Pro allows 30 domains and customer accounts. Web Host has no domain limit and is the only edition that allows resellers.
| Edition | 2026 | From 1 Jan 2027 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web Admin 10 domains, no customers |
$16.99/mo $186.84/yr |
$18.99/mo $208.89/yr |
+11.8% |
| Web Pro 30 domains, customers |
$29.99/mo $329.88/yr |
$33.99/mo $373.89/yr |
+13.3% |
| Web Host, VPS Unlimited domains, resellers |
$62.99/mo $692.88/yr |
$73.99/mo $813.89/yr |
+17.5% |
| Web Host, dedicated Unlimited domains, resellers |
$69.99/mo $769.92/yr |
$73.99/mo $813.89/yr |
+5.7% |
"/mo" is the monthly price and "/yr" the price of a year with yearly billing. In 2027 a year billed yearly costs eleven monthly payments.
The last two rows hide the biggest change. Until now Web Host cost $77.04 a year less on a VPS than on a dedicated server. From 2027 there is one price for both, so the VPS hosts pay the largest increase.
What does a small host pay in 2027?
Here are six servers worked out for a full year at the new prices, with yearly billing. Each one links to the license cost calculator, which uses the same price lists, so you can change the numbers to match your own server.
A VPS for your own sites
Web Admin covers up to 10 domains that you manage yourself. It costs $208.89 a year, $22.05 more than in 2026. Once you host a site for a customer with their own login, Web Admin is no longer enough. Open the own-sites case in the calculator.
A VPS with customers and 30 domains
Web Pro covers 30 domains and customer accounts for $373.89 a year, $44.01 more than in 2026. That is $12.46 per domain per year. Open the 30-domain case in the calculator.
The same VPS with a 31st domain
Web Pro stops at 30 domains. Domain number 31 moves the server to Web Host at $813.89 a year, $440 more than Web Pro. A customer who adds a second site for a new project can more than double your license bill. If a server sits near 30 domains, plan for the jump before it happens. Open the 31-domain case in the calculator.
A VPS that sells to resellers
Resellers need Web Host, whatever the number of domains. On a VPS it costs $813.89 a year, $121.01 more than in 2026. Open the reseller case in the calculator.
A dedicated server on Web Host
The same edition on a dedicated server costs the same $813.89 a year. Here the rise is $43.97, the smallest of the four editions. Open the dedicated case in the calculator.
Five VPS on Web Host
Five Web Host licenses billed yearly cost $4,069.45 a year, $605.05 more than in 2026. Open the five-server case in the calculator.
How does Plesk compare with cPanel and DirectAdmin in 2027?
Take one VPS with 20 customer accounts and 40 domains, billed yearly where the vendor allows it, at the 2027 prices known in October 2026:
| Panel | Plan | A year |
|---|---|---|
| Plesk | Web Host (more than 30 domains) | $813.89 |
| cPanel | Pro (up to 30 accounts), from 16 Dec 2026 | $648.89 |
| DirectAdmin | Standard (unlimited), monthly billing | $348.00 |
| ArcPanel | No paid edition | $0 |
The order changes with your numbers. With 30 domains or fewer, Web Pro at $373.89 is cheaper than cPanel Pro. Past 30 domains, Plesk is the most expensive of the three. The details of cPanel's new prices are in cPanel's 2027 prices: what a small host really pays. DirectAdmin had announced no 2027 change on its pricing page in October 2026. Open the 20-account comparison in the calculator.
What are your options?
Stay on Plesk and pass the cost on
This is a reasonable choice for many hosts. Plesk runs on Windows as well as Linux, your customers know its screens, and your extensions and billing are set up around it. If you stay, check three things before 1 January: that each server is on the smallest edition its domains need, that yearly billing is on, and whether your data center or a license reseller offers a lower price.
Move to another commercial panel
cPanel raises its prices on 16 December 2026, and its tiers count accounts, so it suits servers with many domains per customer better than servers with many customers. DirectAdmin charges per server, from $5 a month for 2 accounts to $29 for unlimited accounts. Either one means a migration: new server software, every site and mailbox moved, and new screens for your customers.
Move to a free panel
ArcPanel is free software under the GPL. It has no paid edition and no license key, so the five Web Host servers above cost $0 in licenses in 2027 and in every year after. It runs the classic hosting stack (web, mail, DNS, databases, SSL and backups) on Debian and Ubuntu, and adds a reseller role and Node.js and Docker apps.
Before you decide, weigh what a move from Plesk to ArcPanel asks of you:
- ArcPanel runs on Linux only, on a fresh Debian or Ubuntu server (amd64). Windows sites (IIS, ASP.NET, MS SQL) stay on Plesk.
- There is no Plesk importer. ArcPanel imports cPanel and DirectAdmin backups; from Plesk you move files, databases and mailboxes yourself, site by site. Our paid migration service covers cPanel, DirectAdmin and HestiaCP, not Plesk.
- Your customers will see a new interface, and Plesk extensions such as WP Toolkit have no direct counterpart.
- There is no WHMCS module yet. Billing systems can call ArcPanel's REST API v2 with scoped access keys.
- ArcPanel is a young project. Its changelog and roadmap show how often it ships and what comes next.
If you host Windows sites or depend on Plesk extensions, stay on Plesk for now. If your servers host Linux sites and the license is the biggest line on the bill, try ArcPanel on a spare server with one or two sites before the renewal.
Check your own numbers before 1 January
Your servers will differ from the six above. Enter your servers, accounts and domains in the license cost calculator. It shows this year's and the 2027 prices of Plesk, cPanel and DirectAdmin side by side, and the page address keeps your numbers, so you can send the result to a business partner.
If the numbers point to a move, install ArcPanel on a test server and move one site to it. If you would rather have help with the setup, we install ArcPanel on a fresh server with DNS, mail and SSL for $99: see support and services.
